About

I’m Jeff Darden and I’ve been doing metalwork since 2009. It all started with a metal lathe I bought for a hobby project which eventually turned into an amateur machine shop with the addition of a milling machine and assorted tooling. Later I picked up welding, fabricating, and design from my day job where we manufactured and shipped portable sawmills. I helped develop a larger, more capable second model of sawmill along with the documentation and manufacturing process. As the portable sawmill fad began to slow down, we started doing custom metalwork for a local architect. In 2017 I set out on my own and today I mostly do a lot of railing and stairway projects. I particularly enjoy building one off architectural requests that always seem to be an interesting challenge.
